Academic Program

Our curriculum is designed to seamlessly prepare students for BASIS Kindergarten. We follow a STREAM approach, incorporating lessons in Science, Math, Reading and Writing, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Students are introduced to these subjects in engaging and age-appropriate ways, igniting their curiosity and laying the foundation for kindergarten.

With a blend of open play and formal lessons, we gradually prepare students for the structure of kindergarten. In addition to academic success, we also focus on our students’ social and emotional development. Our students learn important skills such as teamwork, collaboration, and resilience.
The school year for BASIS Beginners mirrors a traditional school year, beginning in late July or early August and ending in May. Specific dates vary from year to year.
Our school day schedule may vary from year to year. Typically, drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m., with academics starting promptly at 8:15 a.m. Our school day ends around 3:30 p.m. for full-day students, or 11:30 a.m. for half-day students.
Yes, nap time is built into our daily schedule. Nap time allows our students to rest and recharge for the afternoon’s activities. Students who do not nap may participate in a calming activity or work on individual skills with our teachers.
In order to accommodate every family’s dietary needs and preferences, BASIS Beginners does not provide lunch. Students are expected to come to school with a packed lunch each day.
Yes, we are proud to offer before-school care (Early Bird) and after-school care (Late Bird) for families whose schedules do not align with our scheduled start and end times. Early Bird drop-off is from 7:00 – 7:30 a.m., while Late Bird pickup is from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Students who are at school during Early Bird or Late Bird will participate in open playtime under the supervision of our staff.

Enrollment

BASIS Beginners welcomes all early learners ages 3–5. Your child must be at least 3 years old before on or before August 1 of their preschool start year. To ensure a smooth transition, all children must be fully potty-trained before their first day.

We do require prospective families to visit our school for a student playdate and parent interview prior to enrolling. This visit ensures that your child is a good fit for our program. It also gives you a chance to learn more about our academic program and ask any questions you may have.
You can apply to BASIS Beginners by completing an application form and submitting it via email or dropping it off in person at our front office. You will also be asked to submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records.
After receiving your application, our admissions team will carefully review it to ensure it meets all the criteria. You can expect to hear back from us within 3–4 business days.
Unfortunately, we do not offer priority enrollment to BASIS Charter Schools at this time. We encourage all families to apply to BASIS Charter Schools during the Open Enrollment window for their best chance of securing a seat.
